Batsheva Dance Company

 The Batsheva Dance Company is an internationally acclaimed dance company based in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was founded by Martha Graham and Baroness Batsheva De Rothschild in 1964.

From its inception until 1979, Batsheva's prima ballerina was Rina Schenfeld; she and Rena Gluck were the company's principal dancers for many years.

Ohad Naharin has been artistic director since 1990. One of his first acts was to found a youth company, Batsheva Ensemble. Its dancers are aged between 18 and 24. Its graduates include the choreographers Hofesh Schechter and Itzik Galili. The ensemble performed to acclaim at the 2012 Edinburgh International Festival and toured the United Kingdom in autumn 2012.
