Ottawa Senators

The original Ottawa Senators were one of the pioneer National Hockey League teams. However, it eventually transferred to St. Louis and was now called the Eagles in 1934. However, interest in reviving the Senators started in 1990 and it was finally realized in 1993. Since then, the team had four division titles, one President's Trophy and one conference championship. However, they lost to the Anaheim Ducks in the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals. Yet, the success of the franchise is unprecendented for they have been constant play-off contenders.
A big part of the team's success is captain Daniel Alfredsson who has been with the team since 1994. Under his leadership are defenseman Sergei Gonchar, center Jason Spezza, defenseman Chris Phillips, and goaltender Craig Anderson. They are set to maintain their leadership in the NHL and those who will stop them will be in trouble.
