Percee P

John Percy Simon, better known by his stage name Percee P, is a hip hop artist from the Patterson Projects in The South Bronx, New York City, United States. His passion for the culture emerged in 1979 at the age of 10, in which he pursued the art of rhythm & poetry. Percee P has been writing, performing, and recording professionally since 1988, yet his debut album Perseverance was not released until September 18, 2007, produced entirely by Madlib. Uncut described him as the "legendary lyricist of the subterranean".

Displaying natural marketing ability, Percee P is known in the underground for selling his mixtapes himself in front of the legendary Fat Beats store in New York, a practice he continues today; he also sells his label album and mixtapes at his concert venues. Much of his fame spawned from his friendly battle against fellow Bronx legend, Lord Finesse. His persistence and dedication gained him notoriety among hip hop's legends and icons, landing him several achievement titles for his work.
