Summerslam

SummerSlam (2013) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE that took place on August 18, 2013 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. It was the twenty-sixth annual SummerSlam, and the fifth consecutive one held at the Staples Center. The event received 296,909 buys, down from last year's event of 358,000.

Originally, eight matches had taken place at the event, however due Randy Orton's Money in the Bank cash-in, this was an extra match. Two main events were advertised for the event. The first was CM Punk squaring off against Brock Lesnar in a no disqualification match, a match that was referred to as "The Best vs. The Beast" which Lesnar won. The second and final match on the card saw Daniel Bryan defeat John Cena to capture his first WWE Championship with special guest referee Triple H. Bryan's title reign was short lived as he was given a pedigree by crooked referee Triple H, allowing Randy Orton to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.
