The Minnesota Timberwolves entered the league in 1989 together with the Orlando Magic. For their first year, they played their games at the Metrodome. Since 1990, they have called Target Center home. Perhaps the best player of the franchise so far is Kevin Garnett who led the team to the playoffs from 1997 to 2004. In 2004, Garnett was the NBA Most Valuable Player and led the Wolves to their only Western Conference Finals appearance.
Since Garnett left in 2005, the Timberwolves have been trying to get back to the post-season. Now, they have a potent line-up to do just that with Kevin Love down low and Ricky Rubio orchestrating plays. They also have a solid back-up corps of Andrei Kirilenko, Nikola Pekovic, Luke Ridnour, Chase Budinger, Juan Barea and Alexey Shved. It won't be long before the Minnesota Timberwolves will make its way out of the woods and tear up the NBA opposition.
