Verizon Center - Dc

Verizon Center

It was originally known as the MCI Center when it opened doors in 1997. Now, it is known as the Verizon Center. Because of its connection to telecommunications company, the arena has been dubbed as the "Phone Booth". Located at the Chinatown section of the nation's capital, the Verizon Center is owned and operated by Monumental Sports and Entertainment. Depending on the sporting or entertainment event, the arena can accommodate from 18,000 to about 21,000 people.

The Verizon Center is home to the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association, the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association. Even the Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team of the National Collegiate Athletic Association play their home games here. Whatever the sporting event is, the Verizon Center connects the excitement to fans in clear signal. Thus, it helps to purchase game tickets before they are cut off.
